What Does An Obama Presidency Mean to the World of Natural Health?

Uncategorized No Comments »

It means we finally have a chance to make a difference! But we can’t just sit back and relax. We need to take action now to educate the democrats on natural health issues.

Obama’s Health Care Plan does address the notion of prevention which is extremely important in our work. However, what this can mean is more tests, more drugs, more expenses. OR we can educate Obama supporters about natural methods and begin to cure 90% of diseases naturally.

It is up to us. If we educate, they will listen. Pick a topic that you are passionate about and write to Congress today.

Some important issues are:

-We must ban MSG and other unnatural poisons being put in our food supply.

-We must stop that mass overmedication of our children with pharmaceutical drugs.

-We must launch a national health insurance program that treats all citizens regardless of income, employment and pre-existing conditions.

-We must eliminate the thimerosal in vaccines which causes autism and create a country wide law allowing parents to object to vaccinations without penalty.

-We must end the American Medical Association’s Monopoly on healthcare and health insurance and allow holistic practitioners to be covered and become mainstream.

-We must eliminate false, misleading advertising of the food and drug industries.

-We must fight to end the corruption of the FDA and the USDA who are merely making profits off their immoral and illegal decisions

-We must educate the public on natural cures for cancer, obesity, and any and all chronic conditions.

Yoga: Two Exercises to Reduce Cholesterol

Learning How To Breath:
Yoga is all about learning how to breathe and focusing on your breath. We breathe all the time every day, but most of us are not breathing deeply. We take short shallow breathes that and never fill up our lungs completely. In yoga we train ourselves to breathe deeply in order to train our bodies and calm our minds.

In order to breathe properly try this exercise: Inhale slowly and count to ten. Feel your chest as you let your breathe travel from your upper chest to your lower abdomen until you reach and contract your abdominal muscles. Now exhale slowly and count to ten again. (If you can’t reach ten the first time, start with 5 and build your way up to 10.) Now your lungs have released your lungs of toxins and carbon dioxide, and your next breathe will be more effective.

Inverted Poses:
Now that we are aware of our breathing let’s move on to our poses that help
reduce cholesterol. When you practice inverted poses it means your legs and abdomen are higher than your heart reversing the normal gravity of the body. This increases your circulation and allows blood to flow throughout the body freely reducing stress on your feet.

Inverted poses include the plough pose, the headstand, and the crane pose. Ask your instructor to show you more inverted poses.

Other benefits of inverted poses include: increased circulation, brain stimulation, enhanced glandular system functioning, and pressure relief of the abdominal organs.

Breathing deeply and practicing inverted poses are great ways to reduce cholesterol and feel better!

1. Green Your Lighting:
Compact fluorescent lightbulbs can be purchased at most local hardware stores and cost under $4 each. These lightbulbs can save you $30 off your lighting bill in comparison to standard incandescant lighting.

Compact Flourescent Lightbulbs save energy, last longer and ultimately save you money while saving the environment!

2. Green Cleaning:
Your typical household cleaners and bug-killers could be hosting over 200 industrial compounds, pollutants and other chemicals. These harmful chemicals are dangerous for your health, the health of your children and pets and the environment as a whole. Chemicals in cleaning products have been implicated in Parkinson’s disease, infertility, brain damage, and cancer.

Make sure to only buy organic, all-natural cleaning products. Natural cleaning products are becoming more available in most grocery stores.

3. Green Your Shopping:
Typical plastic shopping bags you get at the store are made from petroleum-based plastic which is not biodegradable. Every year Americans use up to 100 billion plastic bags which leads to 12 million barrels of oil!

Thousands of animals chike to death on plastic bags they mistake as food.

Bring reusable canvas shopping bags with you every time you shop and save an animals life!

4. Green Your Garden:
Don’t use synthetic fertilizers or chemical pesticides. Americans use 80 million pounds of pesticides per year in their gardens. These toxic chemicals pose threats to your environment and the health and safety of your family and pets.

Instead use compost and native plants in your garden. Native plants are adapted to the environment and require less water and less attention.

5. Buy Local:
American Produce travels a minimum of 1,500 miles to make it into your grocery store. This wastes a tremendous amount of fossil fuels that release unhealthy carbon dioxide, sulfur dioxide and other harmful pollutants into the air.

When you buy local, you support local farmers and thus support your environment.

Buying local benefits your health, your local economy, your local farmers and the environment!

Eat Your Veggies!

You should eat more fruits and vegetables than anything else. However make sure the fruits and vegetables you are eating are 100% organic. Fruits and Vegetables grown conventionally are sprayed with herbicides and pesticides. When you eat the fruits and vegetables these toxins and preservatives are then going directly into your body. And what do we know about toxins? They cause disease and obesity. By eliminating toxins, we lose weight and get healthier.

Vegetables are low in fat, low in calories, provide us with fiber and give us extra energy. All these features help control weight effectively. Being low in calories enables us to eat lots of vegetables without consuming excess energy; the high fiber content also helps fill the stomach faster limiting the total amount of food consumed.

The presence of many vitamins and other chemicals in vegetables supply the body with nutrients necessary to boost energy production within the muscle cells. This gives us a natural feeling of vitality and the energy to become more active helping to burn more calories every day.
